Rachel Carson's Sense of Wonder

This exhibit is dedicated to the legacy of Rachel Carson, considered by many to be the mother of the modern environmental movement. The exhibition celebrates her passion for introducing children to nature's wonders through photography made in the nearby watersheds of Northwest Branch and Sligo Creek. The artist imagined seeing the world as a young child, exploring the connections between nature, fantasy, and sentience. The exhibit also highlights Carson's work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and her advocacy against DDT.
