Tetsuya Ishida

The first exhibition dedicated to the Japanese painter Tetsuya Ishida (1973-2005) in France, at Gagosian on rue de Ponthieu, Paris. Ishida came of age during Japan's lost decade of the 1990s, and his vivid, hyper-detailed paintings fuse human figures with machines, furniture and architecture to register the absurdity and alienation of that era on both psychological and social levels.
