We Make History
May 30, 2026 - January 31, 2028
About the Exhibition
"We Make History" at the Smithsonian's Anacostia Community Museum in Washington, DC shows how communities in the DC area contribute to the nation's story, marking both the country's 250th anniversary and the museum's own 60th. It opened May 30, 2026, the 185th anniversary of the first entry in Adam Francis Plummer's diary. That diary anchors the exhibition, surrounded by letters, photographs and other items that illustrate how community stories serve as the nation's building blocks. The show remains on view through January 2028.
