When Art Speaks: A Note to Self
About the Exhibition
Orange County Arts & Cultural Affairs presents 'When Art Speaks: A Note to Self,' a solo exhibition of work by Verlese Pender at the Orange County Multicultural Center Art Gallery in Orlando. The show opens with a reception on Wednesday, June 17, with doors at 4:30 p.m. and a program at 5:10 p.m., and remains on display through July 14. Pender is a Ph.D. candidate in human services specializing in mental health, with nearly two decades of experience in children's mental health, behavioral health and youth engagement. Her work grows from a trauma-informed, healing-centered creative wellness program. 'As an artist and mother of two, my journey into creative wellness began personally, discovering how art offered clarity, healing, and resilience during life's most challenging moments,' Pender said. Admission to the reception is free, though advance registration is requested.
