Where's Boston? 50 Years Later opens June 16, 2026, at the Boston Athenaeum, revisiting photographer Constantine Manos's portrait of the city. Manos spent nine months capturing ordinary moments across Boston, from flea markets to weddings, for the original Where's Boston? Bicentennial exhibition. Now, 52 years later, the images ask viewers to examine the complexities of community, race, and access that prevailed then and how they have changed or remained the same. The Boston Athenaeum is also working to identify community members in Manos's photographs and invites visitors who recognize a subject or remember an event to share their insights.
