Art Galleries in Lviv

17 galleries

Lviv's gallery scene splits between two distinct zones. Virmenska Street in the Halytskyi District holds the densest concentration, anchored by Dzyga Art Center, Green Sofa, ICONART Gallery, and the Pavlo Gudimov Ya Gallery Art Center, all within a few minutes of each other. The programming leans toward contemporary Ukrainian painting, sacred art, and monthly rotating shows that keep the schedule moving.

The other pole is Pidzamche, the former industrial quarter to the north. Jam Factory Art Center occupies a revitalized neo-Gothic distillery at 124 Bohdana Khmelnytskogo and runs exhibitions, theatre, music, and artist residencies across six connected spaces totaling roughly 3,400 square meters. The Center of Intellectual Art Mercury on Valova Street and PM Gallery round out the contemporary end of the spectrum, with PM oriented explicitly toward emerging artists.

Since 2022, Lviv has absorbed displaced artists and institutions from eastern Ukraine, and that pressure is visible in the programming. Several galleries shifted from purely commercial or exhibition models toward hybrid community and studio functions. The 18 spaces listed here reflect that breadth, from the Gallery of the Lviv National Academy of Arts, which supports student and graduate work, to Zenyk Art Gallery, founded in 2025 as Ukraine's first barrier-free art space.
