About
Olio Arts & Music Center, formerly known as the Central Wisconsin Cultural Center, has been serving the community since 1996 as a non-profit dedicated to fostering creative experiences as an essential element of individual and community well-being. The center features rotating gallery exhibitions that showcase work from local artists and students across various mediums, with many pieces available for purchase. Visitors will find jewelry displays, paintings, and other visual art forms in regularly changing thematic exhibitions that ensure each visit offers unique surprises and discoveries. The gallery maintains free admission to all exhibits, making art accessible to everyone in the community. Beyond its gallery space, Olio offers a comprehensive arts experience with an open pottery studio, regular art classes in painting and other mediums, music lessons, and live music performances. The facility includes an outdoor patio and rental space for events, creating a vibrant community hub for creative expression. Whether you are interested in viewing contemporary local artwork, taking a pottery class, attending a musical performance, or simply browsing the gift shop, the center provides a welcoming environment for art exploration. The staff is known for being friendly and engaging, eager to share stories about the local community and its artistic heritage. The center's distinctive approach combines visual arts with musical programming and educational opportunities, making it more than a traditional gallery space. As a non-profit organization, Olio relies on class fees, studio rentals, and donations to support its programming and operations. The name itself reflects the center's philosophy, with Olio literally meaning a disparate collection of artistic and literary pieces, perfectly capturing the delightful overlapping of creative outputs that visitors experience when exploring the space.
