City of Encinitas Environmental Awards Artist Call
Create handmade environmental awards for the City of Encinitas. $1,000 compensation for four ceramic, glass, or wood pieces.
The City of Encinitas Cultural Arts Division is seeking local artists to create unique, handmade awards for the annual City of Encinitas Environmental Awards. This is an excellent opportunity for both amateur and professional artists aged 16 years and above who reside in San Diego County.
Artists will be commissioned to design and create four nature-themed award pieces, one for each of the following categories: Excellence in Environmental Stewardship – For-profit Business, Excellence in Environmental Stewardship – Non-profit Organization, Environmental Hero – Adult, and Environmental Hero – Youth.
The artwork must be created using ceramic, glass, or wood materials. Each piece must not exceed 12 inches wide by 12 inches long and 3 inches high. The awards must incorporate nature themes and include text featuring the award name and year.
The selected artist will receive $1,000 compensation (subject to change by the City) and will be responsible for delivering the completed artwork to the City of Encinitas with staff assistance. The artist must also participate in the Environmental Awards Ceremony and may optionally offer an artist talk, demonstration, or workshop.
Additional requirements include completing a waiver of indemnity and liability releasing the city from liability for artwork damage, loss, or theft.
