In Pursuit of Happiness Community Art Exhibition
Upper Arlington Cultural Arts Division seeks local artists for summer exhibition celebrating American identity and the nation's 250th anniversary.
The City of Upper Arlington's Cultural Arts Division is calling for artists to participate in "In Pursuit of Happiness," a community art exhibition celebrating the United States' 250th anniversary. This significant showcase will take place at the Concourse Gallery, located at 3600 Tremont Road, from July 15 through September 11, 2026.
The exhibition invites creative explorations of one of America's most enduring principles, encouraging artists to interpret themes of optimism, perseverance, and collective human experience. This is an excellent opportunity for local artists to contribute to a meaningful community dialogue about American identity and values during this historic milestone.
Eligibility is open to artists who live or work in Upper Arlington, with previous Upper Arlington graduates also welcome to apply. Artists under 18 years old are encouraged to submit their work. All submissions must be original creations—no prints or reproductions are accepted.
The exhibition welcomes a variety of artistic styles and media, with particular emphasis on pieces that thoughtfully explore ideas of optimism, perseverance, and shared human experience. Selected works will be prominently featured at the Concourse Gallery during the summer months, providing community members and visitors with an opportunity to engage with locally-produced interpretations of American identity and values.
This community showcase not only honors the nation's 250th anniversary but also encourages thoughtful reflection on the exhibition's meaningful themes. The deadline to submit your application is May 3, 2026.
