Open Call for Artists: Submit Your Art for a Zine
Submit black-and-white, coloring book-style illustrations of LA landmarks for a zine. 4 winners will be selected, featured, and paid.
The LA Local, a nonprofit newsroom rooted in neighborhoods across Los Angeles, is creating a zine featuring immigration resources and celebrating local landmarks. They are seeking illustrations from artists to contribute to this community-focused publication.
Artists are invited to submit black-and-white, coloring book-style illustrations featuring one of Los Angeles' most iconic locations:
- Mariachi Plaza
- Sixth Street Bridge
- MacArthur Park
- Korean Pavilion (Dawooljung)
- Slauson Swap Meet
- Leimert Park Village
- Edward Vincent Jr. Park (Centinela Park)
- LAX Tacos
This is a paid opportunity with 4 winners being selected. Selected artists will be featured in the zine and compensated for their work. The zine will combine immigration resources with celebration of these community landmarks, making it both a creative and socially conscious project.
The LA Local is committed to community-powered journalism and believes everyone deserves access to clear, relevant reporting that centers on daily life and local issues. This opportunity aligns with their mission to support local artists and celebrate neighborhood culture.
