RE.sidenza TE.atrale OSPITALE 2026, Basilicata

Compagnia Teatrale Petra opens its ninth edition of theater residencies in Basilicata, with national calls across childhood and contemporary performing arts.

Compagnia Teatrale Petra has launched the 2026 call for RE.sidenza TE.atrale OSPITALE, the triennial ministerial project of artist residencies in the territories of Basilicata, Italy, supported by the Ministry of Culture (Directorate General for Performing Arts) and the Region of Basilicata, with the patronage of the municipalities of Satriano di Lucania and Tito. Now in its ninth edition, the project began in 2017 and has developed an original residency model grounded in time for research, dialogue with communities and a deep relationship between artistic practices and place.

For the 2025 to 2027 period, the project is organized into three autonomous but interconnected lines, all open to applications at the national level. The first line is dedicated entirely to theater for early childhood and takes place at the Cecilia Center for Creativity in Tito, working with a national network including Compagnia L'Albero, Teatro nel Baule, Schedia Teatro, Cucu Project and ASSITEJ Italia, with tutoring by Alessandra Maltempo and Antonella Iallorenzi.

The second line, the historic core of the project, is devoted to contemporary performing arts. Together the lines offer artists time and support to develop research in close relationship with the communities of Basilicata.
