Alex Gartenfeld

Alex Gartenfeld is the Irma and Norman Braman Artistic Director of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami, where he has helped lead the institution since its founding in 2014 and oversees its exhibitions, permanent collection, and programs. He began in Miami as a curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami, and earlier founded the New York project space West Street Gallery and worked as an editor at Art in America. His ICA Miami exhibitions include presentations of artists such as Joyce Pensato and a major Carroll Dunham survey.
