About
Mari Carmen Ramirez is an art historian and the Wortham Curator of Latin American Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, which she joined in 2001. That same year she co-founded the museum's International Center for the Arts of the Americas. A leading authority on modern and contemporary Latin American art, she curated the exhibition Inverted Utopias: Avant-Garde Art in Latin America and earned a doctorate from the University of Chicago.
