Since 2021, the Archipel Butor in Lucinges, in the Haute-Savoie region of France, has organized artist residencies. Its Livre de Dialogue (book of dialogue) creation residency is now accepting applications for a project that brings together an author and a visual artist working in collaboration.
The residency is designed to host an author who already has a project to create a book of dialogue in partnership with a visual artist. Applicants must apply as a duo composed of one artist and one author, and the application must be made jointly by the pair. The residency supports the creation of an artist's book and aims to highlight the culture of the livre d'artiste and the collaboration that sits at the center of the artistic process.
The stay lasts a total of two months (eight weeks, which can be split into separate periods) and will take place starting in January 2027. The duo must be present during shared periods so they can work together on the writing and creation of the book. The creation grant is 2,000 euros gross per month, per artist.
The Livre de Dialogue residency has previously hosted five winning duos, including Gaelle Callac and Jeanne Truong (2021), Francois Andes and Dominique Sampiero (2022), Alexis Judic and Justin Delareux (2023-24), Patricia Cartereau and Eric Pessan (2025), and Cecile Palusinski and Elsa Mroziewicz (2026). Candidates have until August 30, 2026 to apply for the upcoming residency.
