The Burien Creative District is seeking artists for ArtLab Burien, a new annual multi-disciplinary arts festival in Burien, Washington, debuting this August. Beyond displaying and selling work, organizers encourage artists to invite the community into their process through an immersive or interactive experience, such as a live demonstration, a presentation of their creative process, or a hands-on activity for the public.
The festival is open to artists of all kinds, including painters, sculptors, photographers, potters, crafters, designers, jewelry makers, quilters, and printmakers, as well as arts, cultural, and heritage organizations and businesses within the creative economy. All artistic works or other products sold at the festival must be produced locally.
ArtLab Burien takes place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on SW 153rd Street between Ambaum Blvd SW and 6th Ave SW. Artists can apply for a booth through the festival form, and those proposing a performance, installation, or other experience can reach out by email. The deadline to respond and ensure inclusion is July 31.
