A call to artists for a permanent, large-scale outdoor artwork in the North Tahoe Regional Park gathering space, with a $75,000 budget. Deadline July 31.

Deadline: July 31, 2026

The North Tahoe Public Utility District (NTPUD), in partnership with the North Tahoe Community Alliance, the Tahoe Fund, North Tahoe Arts, and the Arts Council of Placer County, has announced a Call to Artists for a permanent public art installation at the North Tahoe Regional Park in Tahoe Vista, California. Artists and artist teams are invited to submit qualifications and concept proposals for a unique, large-scale outdoor art piece to be installed in the recently completed Community Gathering Space at the park, located at 6600 Donner Road.

Artists are encouraged to propose work that responds to one or more project themes: Connection to Place, reflecting North Lake Tahoe’s natural environment, seasons and landscapes; Community Gathering, exploring shared experiences, recreation and community identity; Stewardship and Sustainability, addressing environmental care and respect for the Lake Tahoe Basin; and Cultural Heritage, recognizing regional history including Indigenous and contemporary narratives.

A total project budget of $75,000 is available, inclusive of all artist fees, design, fabrication, engineering and materials. Artists or artist teams located in North Lake Tahoe are strongly encouraged to apply and will receive priority preference in the selection process. Submissions are due to the District by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026. The project is funded through support from the Tahoe Fund and the TOT-TBID Dollars at Work program. A complete Request for Proposals and all application materials are available online at ntpud.org.
