Open Call: GenP Illustration Contest for Young Artists

Italy’s GenP award includes a contest for artists under 35 to create an illustration on youth participation, with a 2,000 euro prize. Deadline Sept 13.

Deadline: September 13, 2026

GenP – Giovani che partecipano (Young people who participate) returns for its second edition, an award promoted by Acri, the association of Italian banking-origin foundations, dedicated to third-sector organizations that promote youth leadership by involving people under 35 in their governance and activities. Alongside the main award, this edition introduces a contest for artists under 35.

Young artists are invited to create an illustration inspired by the theme of youth participation, which will be presented to the winning organizations of the award. The winning artist will receive a contribution of 2,000 euros. The deadline to take part is September 13, 2026, and the full regulations and participation form are available on the official GenP website.

The broader GenP initiative gives visibility to significant experiences of youth participation across Italy. The winning organizations each receive a contribution of 10,000 euros and will be celebrated at an event in December 2026. A jury composed of sector experts and Acri representatives, including journalists Monica Maggioni and Isabella De Silvestro, will select the three winning organizations and evaluate entries. Partners of the initiative include Vita, CheFare and Percorsi di Secondo Welfare, the latter producing the second edition of a survey on new leadership in the third sector to be presented at the award ceremony.

The artist contest offers an opportunity for emerging illustrators to connect their practice to a national conversation about civic engagement and the role of young people in shaping their communities. Interested artists should consult the regulations on the GenP website for full eligibility and submission details before the September 13 deadline.
