Creatures of the Sea Community Art Show, Dunnellon

Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon invites the public and artists to depict a sea creature in any medium for its Creatures of the Sea Community Art Show.

Deadline: July 2, 2026

The Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon gallery is inviting members of the public and artists to capture a sea creature with paint, clay, wood, metal, photography or any other medium for entry in the Creatures of the Sea Community Art Show. The exhibit will run from July 5 to 31, with a Muffins and Mimosas brunch reception from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 5.

Art drop-off is July 1 and 2. The entry fee for non-gallery members is 20 dollars for one piece and 30 dollars for two. Works are to be no larger than 18 by 24 inches, and any pieces that will hang on walls should be held up by wire.

Organizers encourage entrants to interpret the watery world freely, describing its inhabitants as both beautiful and mysterious and noting Florida's deep connection to its oceans, lakes and waterways. Visitors to the exhibit will be asked to vote for their favorite piece, and a 150 dollar People's Choice Award will be given. The nonprofit gallery is at 20826 Walnut Street in Dunnellon, with hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
