Hawaii Craftsmen 59th Annual Statewide Exhibition
Hawaii-based artists working in craft media can submit up to six works for Hawaii Craftsmen's juried statewide exhibition, traveling from Oahu to Maui.
Hawaii Craftsmen invites Hawaii-based artists to submit work for the 2026 Annual Statewide Exhibition, the organization's premier juried showcase of traditional and contemporary craft. This year marks the 59th edition. The exhibition opens on Oahu at the Downtown Art Center Main Gallery in Honolulu from September 4 to 25, then travels to the Schaefer International Gallery at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center in Kahului from October 27 to December 23.
The 2026 exhibition will be juried by Jonathan Yukio Clark, director of the Schaefer International Gallery at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Clark is a multidisciplinary artist and curator whose work spans sculpture, textile, printmaking and gallery programming, both locally and nationally.
Emerging and established artists from across the state are encouraged to submit up to six completed artworks for jurying. The exhibition is open to residents of Hawaii for work in clay, fiber, glass, wood, metal, stone and mixed media. Unless they have a strong three-dimensional quality or directly relate to the practice of craft, painting and photography are not eligible. Entries must be original in design and created within the last two years, and works previously exhibited at the Downtown Art Center, the Schaefer International Gallery, or in any juried exhibition in Hawaii are not eligible.
Online registration runs July 1 through 31, with jurying scheduled for August 12 to 16. All work is juried in person on five islands, except for Lanai, which is juried by photograph. Artists can find the prospectus and registration information on the Hawaii Craftsmen website.
