Iniciarte 2026 Grants for Young Andalusian Artists
Andalusia's Iniciarte programme funds up to five exhibition projects by young artists aged 18 to 35 resident in the region, with production grants. Deadline ...
The Regional Ministry of Culture and Sport of Andalusia has published a call for young artists and collectives to present visual art exhibition projects under the Iniciarte programme for 2026. Coordinated by the Andalusian Institute of Plastic and Visual Arts within the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions, the programme aims to facilitate and drive Andalusian production and innovation in new contemporary languages by supporting artistic research processes and the creation of new works by young creators in Andalusia.
The call is for artists resident in Andalusia aged between 18 and 35. A maximum of five exhibition projects will be selected, with special attention to proposals connected to disciplines such as painting, drawing, comics, sculpture, installation, photography, video creation, digital arts, or ephemeral architecture. The application period is fifteen days, counting from June 17, so it ends July 7.
Applicants must submit, along with the application form and identification documents, an artistic portfolio, the artistic-conceptual and technical exhibition project, and a detailed production budget. Proposals are assessed by an evaluation committee designated by the agency and chaired by Lorena Codes, director of the Andalusian Institute of Plastic and Visual Arts, with three expert professionals from the regional visual arts sector. The committee weighs the cultural and artistic interest of the projects, their contribution to contemporary creation, their degree of innovation, and their technical feasibility.
Selected projects are exhibited in the Ministry's exhibition spaces or in collaborating venues, with a maximum production grant of 3,000 euro including tax. Solo exhibitions receive 1,200 euro for the transfer of intellectual property rights during the exhibition period, while group exhibitions provide 700 euro for each participating artist. Each project also receives an individual bilingual printed catalogue.
