Mad in Norway Film Festival Digital Art Call

Mad in Norway is seeking submissions for a digital art exhibit to be displayed between films throughout the Mad in Norway International Film Festival, held September 24 to 26, 2026 in Lillehammer, Norway. The exhibit will take the form of slideshows featuring art that highlights how art-making can heal in times of mental distress.

The call is open to all those with lived experience of mental distress. Artists can submit one piece of visual art that shows how art helped them through periods of mental distress. All submissions must be made through the online form, and the artwork must be original to the artist.

Technical requirements are specific: artists must upload high-resolution (300 dpi) JPEG images of their work, with required dimensions of 2048 by 1107 pixels. Artists may need to adapt or stretch the work to fit the format, and white space is acceptable. The call opened June 15, 2026 and is open for one month, closing in mid-July.

This is an accessible, international opportunity for artists whose practice connects to mental health and recovery, offering a screening-context audience at a festival dedicated to rethinking mental distress.
