Open Call: Dansa València Research Residency at KVS Brussels

Dansa València, the dance and movement-arts festival organized by the Valencian regional government and driven by the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC), has opened the fourth edition of its research residency at the KVS center in Brussels. For the fourth consecutive year, the festival renews its collaboration with KVS, the Royal Theatre of the Belgian capital, part of the Flemish Government’s Department of Culture, Youth and Media.

The public call awards a research stay to an artist who resides and develops their professional activity in the Valencian Community. Beyond a rehearsal space, the residency offers artistic guidance and direct immersion in the Belgian center’s professional network. Its main purpose is for the recipient to gain in-depth knowledge of the Flanders and Brussels scene, interact with its institutional and artistic agents, and attend performances and workshops with the support of the KVS management team. Past beneficiaries include Inka Romaní, Javier J Hedrosa and Julia Zac.

This residency is part of a wider network of exchanges through which Dansa València supports the internationalization of Valencian choreographic work, including research residencies at the Graner center in Barcelona and at LAV Tenerife, and participation in the European Visiting Artist program and the Galicia Escena Pro market. Together these actions consolidate the festival’s role as a showcase for movement in the Valencian Community and as a driver of its artists’ international careers.
