Deadline: July 5, 2026

The Salt Lake City Arts Council has issued a request for qualifications inviting artists and artist-led teams to create murals at four locations along the Jordan River Parkway in the Rose Park neighborhood. Selected artists will transform four spots between 600 North and 1500 North into welcoming and engaging public spaces.

The mural sites are the Riverside Park restroom, retaining walls on the Backman Elementary pedestrian bridge, the large and small pumphouse at the Rose Park golf course, and the Cornell Wetlands Pump Station. The Jordan River Parkway is described as the longest paved urban trail in the country, connecting neighborhoods, parks and wildlife habitats throughout the Salt Lake Valley. The Arts Council says the call seeks artists whose work celebrates the character of the community, highlights the importance of the river corridor, and strengthens connections between people, place and the natural environment.

Budgets range from 8,000 to 16,000 dollars per mural, with the final budget depending on the size and scope of each site. Artists can submit applications through the Salt Lake City Arts Council website until Sunday, July 5, 2026.
