Summer's Glow Call for Artists, MWV Arts
MWV Arts in New Hampshire's White Mountains invites artists to its Summer's Glow show. All media welcome, deadline July 1.
MWV Arts in New Hampshire's Mount Washington Valley invites artists to its Summer's Glow exhibition, a celebration of the warmth, color and atmosphere of summer in all its forms. Summer in the White Mountains brings long days, mountain views, wildflowers, rushing rivers, farmers markets and the vibrant energy of a season lived outdoors, and artists are encouraged to interpret the theme through emotion, color, movement, light or personal experiences that capture the feeling of summer at its brightest.
All media are welcome, including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, fiber arts, ceramics, sculpture and mixed media, with both representational and abstract approaches. The exhibit will be on view for three months, from July 1 to October 6, with a Meet the Artists celebration on Saturday, July 18. Each artist may display up to four original pieces and will have the opportunity to sell small items such as prints, cards or jewelry.
To participate, artists become members of MWV Arts and download an Open Call inventory form, and MWV Arts welcomes new members at any time. Art must be dropped off at the gallery at 16 Norcross Circle on Wednesday, July 1, between 10 a.m. and noon. All participating artists are expected to make a monthly volunteer gallery sitting commitment. Artists interested in displaying a larger body of work can ask about renting a gallery wall through the Resident Artists program. For a chance to be featured in the show poster and promotional materials, artists should email high-quality images of their work by July 1.
