Techne Artist Residency in Pietrasanta, Italy

A six-month residency in Pietrasanta for five artists and one curator under 36, focused on marble, bronze, ceramic and mosaic. Deadline June 22.

Deadline: June 22, 2026

Applications are open for the Techne artist residency in Pietrasanta, Tuscany, part of the A.TE.N.A. program (Arte, Tecniche e Nuove Analisi) funded by the Tuscany Region within Giovanisi. The residency runs from October 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027 and will select five artists and one curator under 36 interested in developing their skills in contemporary art. The project is promoted by the Municipality of Pietrasanta in collaboration with the Museo dei Bozzetti Pierluigi Gherardi, the Fondazione Museo Igor Mitoraj and the Soecoforma social enterprise consortium.

The residency is designed to value the artistic techniques that have made Pietrasanta an international reference for contemporary artistic production. Participants work closely with artisans, artists, museums, archives, galleries and specialized workshops, focusing in particular on marble sculpture, bronze sculpture, ceramic and terracotta, mosaic and stone inlay. Each participant develops their own artistic or curatorial project, supported by mentors and tutors throughout the six months, culminating in an original artwork, a group exhibition open to the public, a catalogue and public events.

The call is open to young people aged 18 to 35 who hold a secondary school diploma, have interest or experience in contemporary visual arts or curating, are unemployed, not employed or inactive, hold no VAT number and are not enrolled in a course of study. International candidates need Italian language knowledge at least at B1 level. Selected participants receive free accommodation at the Centro Arti Visive di Pietrasanta, a residency grant of 500 euros net per month, and fully funded training, tutoring and mentoring. Selection is by dossier evaluation and an individual interview, and the deadline to apply is June 22, 2026.
