Together We Are: Inclusive Art Exhibition Call, NJ
West Windsor Arts and The Arc/Mercer invite artists of all abilities to the inclusive 'Together We Are' exhibition. Free to enter, deadline June 29.
West Windsor Arts and The Arc/Mercer Inc. announce an open call for 'Together We Are...,' a collaborative exhibition celebrating artists of all abilities and exploring the power of art to connect people through shared experiences, community and creativity. The deadline to submit art is Monday, June 29, 2026.
The exhibition centers on the belief that creativity rises above differences and that every individual's voice contributes to a richer, more inclusive community. As part of the show, each artist will be invited to complete the phrase 'Together We Are...' with one or two words reflecting their personal vision of community and connection, displayed alongside the artwork. Free to enter and open to artists ages 18 and older, the exhibition invites participants to reflect on what it means to be human, connected and part of a community through painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital art and other mediums. Submitted work must be original to the medium and may not have been previously exhibited at West Windsor Arts.
Accessibility is at the heart of the exhibition, with the application process and gallery experience designed to be welcoming for artists and visitors of all abilities. The show will be juried by Lisa Sonneborn, Director of Media Arts and Culture for the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University, and Jaggar DeMarco, a PhD candidate at Temple's Klein College. Accepted artwork drop-off is August 6, the show runs August 11 to September 19, and an opening reception will be held Friday, August 14 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Artists should prepare a brief biography, an artist statement, a photograph of their artwork and one or two words to complete the phrase.
