Yves Klein Research Grant 2026

A CHF 6,000 stipend and a one-week funded residency in Paris for emerging scholars researching Yves Klein's work and legacy.

The Yves Klein Foundation has launched its first Research Grant, a CHF 6,000 stipend paired with a one-week funded residency in Paris for emerging scholars researching the work and legacy of Yves Klein. The program is designed to support original projects that deepen understanding of Klein's ideas, influence, and the wider postwar avant-garde context of his practice. Applications are open through June 15, 2026.

The grant is open to researchers of any nationality and country of residence, under 35 years of age, who hold a PhD or postdoctoral degree in art history, aesthetics, or the humanities. Applicants must demonstrate strong proficiency in French or English and propose a research project that requires access to Yves Klein-related archival and documentary resources held by the Foundation. Selection is based on originality, methodological rigor, feasibility within a one-week residency, and the relevance of archival research to the proposed work.

The stipend is paid in two installments. Travel and accommodation are covered separately by the Foundation, and selected scholars receive a dedicated workspace, archive access, and scholarly guidance during the residency. The residency is scheduled for autumn 2026, with exact dates set in coordination with the selected researcher.
