The Centro de Arte Fundación María José Jove, in collaboration with Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), has opened the third edition of its International Artistic Residencies Programme. The initiative fosters cultural exchange and contemporary artistic production between Spain and Latin America, strengthening the international careers of Spanish creators. The programme offers a six-week residency, taking place between September and the first half of October 2026, divided between Mexico City and Oaxaca, for two artists of Spanish nationality.
The call places special emphasis on practices related to textiles, understood as a space for material experimentation, the activation of cultural memory and the articulation of contemporary discourse. It also supports situated artistic research that explores the connections between art, territory and community. Host institutions are Fundación Marso and Proyectos Públicos in Mexico City and La Curtiduría Centro de Artes Visuales in Oaxaca. The call is open to Spanish contemporary creators working in any discipline, including visual arts, performance, installation, audiovisual, new media or artistic research.
Each selected artist receives a per diem of 1,500 euros, a production allowance of up to 1,500 euros, round-trip and internal travel, accommodation and workspace, mentoring from a residency coordinator, a public presentation of the final project, and travel medical insurance. The application period opened June 4 and closes July 5, 2026, with results announced July 20, 2026.
