Canton of Glarus Cultural Grant 2027 (Switzerland)

The Swiss canton of Glarus offers an annual grant of up to 25,000 francs for cultural practitioners with close ties to the canton. Apply by October 31, 2026.

Deadline: October 31, 2026

The Canton of Glarus in Switzerland supports established cultural practitioners through its annual Forderbeitrag (funding contribution). Glarus artists across all disciplines are invited to apply for the 2027 grant by October 31, 2026.

The grant is designed to temporarily ease the financial pressure on cultural practitioners so they can work on a specific project or deepen and develop their creative abilities. It aims both to encourage cultural production and the creation of new work, and to support practitioners whose previous work shows particular talent and convincing quality. The government council can award a maximum of 25,000 francs per year, with only one grant awarded annually on a competitive basis.

Applicants must have a close connection to the canton of Glarus, for example by being Glarus citizens, having legal residence in the canton for the past five years, or having lived there for several years previously. Eligible fields include scholarly research, visual and applied arts, literature, music, performing arts, film, photography, and video, in which the applicant has already produced professional work.

Applications are reviewed by the Commission for the Promotion of Cultural Life. The deadline to submit is October 31, 2026.
