Open Call: Mercado de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) 2026
Córdoba’s contemporary art market invites galleries and visual arts projects from Argentina and Latin America to apply for its 13th edition.
Agencia Córdoba Cultura has opened applications for the 2026 edition of the Mercado de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC), the contemporary art market held in the center of Argentina. Now in its 13th edition, MAC invites art galleries, projects and other visual-arts initiatives from Argentina and Latin America to apply between July 8 and 18, 2026. Selected galleries will be announced on July 20.
Proposals may include up to four artists, depending on the dimensions of the requested space, and can encompass a wide diversity of languages and formats, from objects and installations to audiovisual, multimedia and other contemporary artistic expressions. The call seeks to reflect the plurality of perspectives, experiences and modes of production that characterize the current scene.
The 13th edition of MAC will take place from September 24 to 27 at Espacio UNMOL under the theme "Sobre la vitalidad," a curatorial proposal by Sofía Torres Kosiba and Manuel Coll that invites participants to think of art as a tool for strengthening bonds, rebuilding social fabric and generating new forms of encounter and exchange. Over four days, MAC brings together the main actors of the sector, strengthening the visibility of artists and projects from across Argentina and Latin America while consolidating Córdoba as a reference point for federal and regional culture.
The selection jury includes Julia Cuneo Oliva, rector of the Universidad Provincial de Córdoba; Pablo Caligaris, director of the Fundación Hito Cultural; Blanca Freytes of the Domingo Biffarella conservation center; the artist and independent manager Carlos Herrera; and curator Catalina Urtubey, former director of the gallery El Gran Vidrio. The application form, terms and conditions, and submission guide are available on the official MAC website.
