Salt Lake Temple Celebration Artist Call

A paid call for professional performing artists to join a touring company for the 2027 Salt Lake Temple celebration, plus a volunteer call for arts groups. D...

Deadline: July 24, 2026

The celebration marking the reopening of the Salt Lake Temple has opened several calls for musicians, artists, cultural groups, and volunteers to take an active part in the historic event. The organizers aim to create a welcoming atmosphere of hope and faith through music, art, and live performance as visitors move through Temple Square.

One call is directed at professional individual artists with experience in singing, acting, musical performance, or scenic movement. Those selected will form an artistic company that performs in the Salt Lake Temple celebration during a season running from February to October 2027. In addition to presenting music and performances, participants interact with the public through narration and inspirational presentations. This is a paid opportunity, with compensation of approximately $900 per week during rehearsal and performance weeks, plus agency fees where applicable. Participants must work as local residents, since no housing or transportation is provided, and must pass background checks and receive ecclesiastical approval. Applications require audition videos, a recent photograph, and contact information. The deadline for the professional individual artist call is July 24, 2026.

A second call is directed at volunteer artistic groups, including choirs, instrumental ensembles, folk groups, schools, and community, cultural, or interfaith collectives. Participation in this track is entirely voluntary and unpaid, intended for groups of four to more than one hundred members, with all participants at least eight years old. An adult representative submits the application with a short audition video of the group. Selected groups are notified before August 31, 2026, and the deadline to apply is July 15, 2026.
