Sifonarte: Painting and Poster Contest, Argentina
Argentina's Sifonarte invites artists nationwide to reinterpret the soda siphon. 14 million pesos in prizes, finalists shown at BADA. Deadline August 3.
IVESS presents the second edition of Sifonarte, an art contest inviting artists from across Argentina to reinterpret one of the country's most emblematic cultural symbols: the soda siphon. Developed in collaboration with BADA (Buenos Aires Directo de Artistas), the initiative seeks to promote talent and create visibility for new artistic perspectives inspired by an icon woven into the country's history, gastronomy and popular traditions.
The call is free and open, running from June 15 through Monday, August 3, 2026. This year it includes two categories: Painting and Posters. Participants compete for a total of 14 million pesos in prizes, distributed between first and second place in each category. A specialized jury will select 12 finalist works, which will be exhibited during the 14th edition of BADA Argentina from August 27 to 30, 2026 at La Rural in Buenos Aires.
The finalist works will form a special display in the IVESS space, where visitors can take part in open public voting. The four winners, first and second prize in both Painting and Posters, will be determined by the jury's evaluation and the audience vote. The first edition of Sifonarte received more than 1,000 works from artists across the country, establishing itself as a proposal that combines art, cultural identity and new creative expressions around one of the most representative symbols of the Argentine table. Full rules, requirements and registration are available on the contest website.
