TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund: Fifth Funding Round

Germany's dance funding program TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund is launching its fifth call, with around 1.9 million euros available from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. From November 5, 2026 to April 5, 2027, artists, ensembles, production structures and networks can apply for funding. The program emphasizes sustainable, structure-building support that strengthens dance as a socially effective art form, made possible by co-funding from municipalities and states through a cooperative match-funding model.
Applicants can receive advisory support from the program's co-organizers, Dachverband Tanz Deutschland and Bureau Ritter, and applications are submitted exclusively through Bureau Ritter's application portal. The jury remains largely constant for continuity, with Angela Alves, Carmen Kovacs, Sebastian Matthias and Katharina von Wilcke continuing, and is deliberately expanded with a perspective on urban dance forms through Frieda Frost, a researcher in breaking and urban dance culture.
The organizers note that the 28 projects funded so far show how dance reaches well beyond the stage, building new spaces, formats and structures while strengthening visibility, networking, diversity and quality across the dance landscape. The call opens November 5, 2026, with an application deadline of April 5, 2027 at 6:00 p.m. The earliest project start is July 1, 2027, with projects running through June 30, 2030.
