The Teatro Victoria de Blanca, in the Region of Murcia, Spain, has opened the second edition of its MAE Teatro Victoria artistic residency program, aimed at supporting the creation of new performing arts works for children and young audiences during 2026.
The call is open to professional creators and companies developing projects oriented toward children and youth, with particular attention to entities based in the Region of Murcia. The program's goal is to drive artistic creation, strengthen the professional fabric of the sector, and provide suitable spaces and resources for processes of research and stage production.
The selected residency will receive use of the Teatro Victoria facilities for a maximum period of one month, planned for September 2026. The theatre will also offer technical support in lighting and sound when its programming allows, and the Ayuntamiento de Blanca may provide lodging for the company if needed. The program does not include direct funding, so production, contracting and tax and labor obligations are the responsibility of the resident company.
Beyond the creative work, the call emphasizes cultural mediation and the development of new audiences. The selected company must carry out activities with students from the municipality's schools, hold a public opening of its creative process at the end of the residency, and offer a free performance of the show during the last quarter of 2026. Selection is made through competitive concurrence, and only one project will be chosen, evaluated on the quality and innovation of the proposal, the company's track record, and the value of the proposed mediation activities. The jury includes representatives of the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramatico de Murcia, ASSITEJ, TEVEO, the Ayuntamiento de Blanca and the Teatro Victoria.
Applications are open for 15 business days following the official publication of the call, with a submission deadline of June 17, 2026. Registration is made through an application addressed to the Ayuntamiento de Blanca, Teatro Victoria, including information on the company's background, the artistic proposal, the planned mediation activities, the technical needs of the project and the details of the participants.
