Colombia Ministry of Cultures: Three Visual Arts Open Calls
Colombia's Ministry of Cultures opens three calls for visual artists covering international residencies, symbolic reparation and knowledge exchange.
Colombia's Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Knowledge has opened three calls for the plastic and visual arts sector, aimed at artists, independent spaces, collectives, researchers and community processes. Together the initiatives seek to strengthen creation, research, circulation, knowledge exchange and the construction of memory, promoting collaborative work between artists, independent spaces, collectives and communities. The three calls close on June 8, 14 and 22.
The first is the call for national and international Knowledge Exchanges in Plastic and Visual Arts, which offers four residency and exchange processes: eight weeks at Bag Factory in Johannesburg, South Africa; eight weeks at Casa do Povo in Sao Paulo, Brazil; six weeks at R.A.R.O. in Bogota; and six weeks at Casa Taller El Boga in Santa Cruz de Mompox. This call closes June 8.
The second is a set of public invitations for the symbolic reparation of the Union Patriotica, opening four calls for artists to facilitate a co-creation process designing collective measures ordered by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, including commemorative plaques, a national monument, a documentary and a media campaign. These are directed at artists, collectives, researchers and cultural managers. A third group of opportunities supports collaboration networks across the sector.
