DREAMS Music Awards 2026: Durham Region Call
Musicians from Ontario's Durham Region can submit work to the DREAMS Music Awards across album, single, songwriter and other categories. Deadline June 15.
The Durham Region Excellence in Arts, Music and Sound (DREAMS) Music Awards, formerly the Oshawa Music Awards, is accepting submissions from musicians for its seventh ceremony, set for September in Ontario, Canada. The not-for-profit awards aim to recognize and promote musical talent across a region that organizers describe as a vibrant, diverse music hub spanning country, pop, R&B, heavy metal and hip-hop.
Categories include album, record or single, songwriter, music producer and music video of the year. Eligible work must be from the period between January 1, 2025 and May 31, 2026, and artists must live in or be from Durham Region to take part. Will McGuirk, communications liaison for DREAMS and manager of KOPS Records in downtown Oshawa, said the organizers want to acknowledge and reward the work local musicians have been doing, and hopes every musician in the region puts work forward.
Previous winners describe the recognition as a meaningful boost. Blues and rock musician Stefan Palicki, based in Oshawa, won best emerging artist last year. Artists submit their work online through the DREAMS website, with a deadline of Monday, June 15. The ceremony takes place on September 18 at the Biltmore Theatre in downtown Oshawa.
