The euward is open for its tenth edition. Awarded by the Munich-based Augustinum Foundation, the euward is the European prize for art in the context of contemporary Art Brut, and is regarded internationally as the most important distinction for this field in all of its present-day forms. Artists from across Europe can apply until October 10, 2026, with the euward10 to be awarded in 2027.
The foundation has presented the euward since the year 2000. Its aim is to support artists who, because of individual disadvantages described as intellectual, psychological or mental disabilities, have so far remained unseen, and to make their work accessible to the public. In previous editions, as many as 600 artists from more than 25 European nations applied for each round.
A jury of recognized specialists selects three winners from the applications received across Europe. The prizewinners are honored with cash awards and a catalogue dedicated to their work, with a total value of around 30,000 euros. The high point of the euward10 will be an exhibition of the winners' works at the Haus der Kunst in Munich, on view from October 22, 2027 through January 9, 2028.
Artists from anywhere in Europe are eligible. Full application details and requirements are published on the official euward website.
