Guadalajara and Carter Center Mural Commission Call
Guadalajara's government and the Carter Center invite muralists to propose a mural on the power of information in women's lives. Deadline July 1, 2026.
The Government of Guadalajara, Mexico, in collaboration with the Carter Center, has launched a public call to select the artist or collective who will create a mural as part of the international campaign Informing Women, Transforming Lives. The initiative promotes access to information as a tool for exercising rights and strengthening women's participation.
The call is aimed at muralists and artists with experience in community-based and large-format projects, who may submit proposals representing the transformative value that access to information holds in the lives of women, their families, and their communities. It forms part of an international strategy led by the Carter Center to raise awareness about the importance of access to public information and its impact on decision-making, civic participation, and access to services and programs that support women's wellbeing.
Proposals should incorporate an inclusive, community-centered vision and reflect art's ability to communicate messages that strengthen equality, participation, and access to rights. Applicants must submit a CV, portfolio, design proposal, work schedule, and budget, in accordance with the official guidelines. The deadline to submit proposals is July 1, 2026.
