Square Festival Open Call for Emerging Musicians

Portugal's Square showcase festival opens a call for emerging musicians across all genres and languages, with shows in Braga. Deadline August 15.

Deadline: August 15, 2026

Square, one of Portugal's most promising recent festivals for new talent, has opened its call to recruit emerging artists who can join its lineup. The next edition of the Portuguese festival will take place in the northern town of Braga, with additional programming in Famalicao, Guimaraes and Viana do Castelo, and will be held from January 27 to 30. Square is a showcase festival where both professionals and the public discover new proposals from Europe, Africa and the Americas.

The call seeks independent emerging artists from less typical regions, with the intention of building bridges between geographies, languages and musics. It is open to all musical genres, formats and languages, and artists can sign up under the terms and conditions until August 15 through the festival website.

Square is part of the initiatives that make up Braga25, Portuguese Cultural Capital, in partnership with Faz Cultura and the Braga Municipal Culture Company, and is organized by Lovers and Lollypops. The festival offers emerging musicians a platform to reach industry professionals and audiences in an international showcase setting. Full information and application terms are available on the festival website.
